Shamrock Farmhouse is located on the Kerry Way at the foot of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks. The house is the last accommodation in Black Valley before the trail crosses Windy Gap and down into the next valley of Bridia.
The guest house has four bedrooms, three of which are ensuite with shower. Tea and coffee is served on arrival and a four course evening meal can be provided with advance notice. Walkers on the Kerry Way can also get a packed lunch made up for the trail and look to have their luggage transferred to the next house. A television is available to watch in the guests sitting room.
Black Valley has plenty to offer the outdoor enthusiast who is looking to spend an extra day in the area. Competent navigators can climb Ireland's highest mountain - Carrauntoohil (1,039m) or tackle another popular choice of Purple Mountain (832m). The famous setting the Gap of Dunloe can be visited on foot from the guest house or a horse and cart trip can be organised.
