Free transport is provided to Cahersiveen to secure an evening meal. Alternatively, guests are allowed to bring back take-away food to eat in the dining room. The well-maintained gardens are there for residents to relax in and enjoy the flowers and surrounding views.
Within easy distance of Strand's End House is the ancient pilgrim path that climbs up past the stations of the cross to reach the summit of Cnoc na dTober (690m). The return hike can be completed in around 3 hours.
Boat trips can be arranged to Valencia, Beginish and the Skellig Islands.
