Druid Cottage is one of the nearest bed and breakfasts to the Kerry Way as it enters Kenmare. The house is set back from the Sneem Road which is part of the Ring of Kerry Cycle Route.
The name of the cottage makes reference to the bronze age druid stone circle to be found on the edge of Kenmare. The cottage itself has its own history as it is a 19th Century Victorian house.
Druid Cottage is a Fáilte Ireland approved bed and breakfast. Most of the bedrooms are ensuite and are sympathetically decorated to match the cottage theme. There are flat-screen tvs showing the local Irish stations and the CNN news channel. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in each bedroom.
Hosts Bernadette and Phillip are hill-walking enthusiasts. There are many mountaineering books, maps, photographs and postcards around the house for walkers to browse through. Those wishing to spend an extra day hiking will receive good advice on walks in the local area.
There is a commercial dryer in the shed outside for drying wet clothes. A laundry service can also be arranged. Luggage transfer to the next bed and breakfast on the trail can be organised.
