Kenmare is a small bustling town with colourful buildings providing a cheerful atmosphere. The town has several restaurants, pubs and craft-shops and a small green in which to relax. There is Internet access available through the post office and there are a few banks with external ATM machines.
The town of Kenmare comes alive with tourism during summer months with the Tourist Office following suit, opening from Easter until October each year. The adjoining Heritage Centre gives great insight to history of the area and samples of locally-produced lace are on display in the Kenmare Design and Lace Centre upstairs.
