Shamrock Farmhouse is located on the Kerry Way at the foot of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks. The house is the last accommodation in Black Valley before the trail crosses Windy Gap and down into the Bridia Valley.
There are four bedrooms at Shamrock Farmhouse, two of which are ensuite with shower. There is a guest sitting room with a television to view.
Black Valley has plenty to offer the outdoor enthusiast who is looking to spend an extra day in the area. Competent navigators can climb Ireland's highest mountain - Carrauntoohil (1,039m) or tackle another popular choice of Purple Mountain (832m). The famous setting the Gap of Dunloe can be visited on foot from the guest house or a horse and cart trip can be organised.
Evening meals are served at 6.00pm and must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance. Kerry Way Walkers can request a packed lunch for the trail and also arrange to have their luggage transferred to their next accommodation on the trail.
