Taobh Coille is located on the 'Ring of Kerry Cycle Route' and overlooks the entire Dingle Peninsula across the sea. The house is surrounded by farmland and has its own private lane leading down towards the sea.
The bed and breakfast is approved by Fáilte Ireland and has been awarded 3 stars. All rooms are ensuite with showers, with one bedroom having a bath. Every room has a television and tea/coffee making facilities.
Home-baking is a speciality in the house with brown bread and scones made daily. Newly-laid eggs for breakfast are collected from chickens in the back yard. Freshly-caught local lobster is one of the options for a pre-ordered evening meal served with vegetables grown on the farm.
The longest section of the Kerry Way is between Glenbeigh and Cahersiveen. Taobh Coille is a good mid-point and can create a shorter stage of 20km to either Cahersiveen or Mastergeehy.
Kerry Way Walkers can be collected from either the post office in Glenbeigh or the post office in Kells and returned to the trail the following morning for free. Packed lunches can be made to order. A laundry service is also on offer for those looking to get a clean set of clothes.
Anyone wanting to stay an extra day in the area can have a boat trip to the Skelligs arranged for them. Bicycles can also be rented out, allowing for easy access to places such as Kells Bay Gardens and the local blue-flag beach.
A self-catering house that sleeps 8 is also owned by Taobh Coille and is rented out by the week. It is only 200 metres the beach at Kells Bay. Please enquire direct for more details.
