Location

Kingfisher Lodge is a Fáilte Ireland approved guest house with a three star grading. It is located on the edge of Killarney and is a 10 minute walk from the train station.

The House

The guest house is a modern, three-storey house with a total of eleven guest bedrooms. Each room has an ensuite with a shower and complimentary toiletries. There are tea and coffee making facilities within the room and a direct line to make external phone calls. There is also a flatscreen television in every room with a selection of 'Free to Air' satellite stations.

The Guest Lounge is on the ground floor has a television and a selection of DVDs. There is also a collection of books and magazines to browse through, including an extensive catalogue of the ever popular National Geographic.

The Garden

Guests are welcome to sit outside and relax in the back garden. There is garden furniture on the patio beside the ornamental pond which is stocked with goldfish.

Food

Kingfisher Lodge provide an large choice of options for breakfast. This includes the buffet table of fresh fruit and yoghurt, a choice of fruit juices and pastries.

Kerry Way walkers can source a packed lunch through one of the nearby deli counters in the town. There are also numerous pubs and restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the house in which to get an evening meal.

Walking Guide

Host of the house, Donal Carroll, is a qualified walking guide. He is happy to give a briefing to those setting out on the Kerry Way and answer any questions about the trail. Although he doesn't cover the Kerry Way, he does give guided day walks around sections of Killarney National Park. Please ask for more details on this when sending enquiry.
